Cloud ERP software publisher Acumatica continues to show fast growth in the marketplace with the release of Acumatica 5.3. The general availability of this new version of the software was announced at its annual conference, which was well attended by the MicroAccounting team, both as an Acumatica value-added reseller (VAR), and representing its xkzero brand of mobile sales and direct store delivery automation software.
Acumatica is known for its next generation ERP (enterprise resource planning) software, which includes a full suite of solutions designed for professional services industries, wholesale distribution, and manufacturing.
As for the new version of the software, in a press release, Acumatica CEO Jon Roskill said, “The updates in Acumatica 5.3 enable customers to accelerate their businesses by delivering more powerful performance and new mobility features.”
Highlights of Acumatica 5.3: mobility and performance
Enhanced mobile app: As with 5.0, businesses and employees can enter, review and approve orders from anywhere, at any time. And now there are more scenarios than ever including mobile CRM, mobile sales orders, and project time cards.
New web services API: The application programming interface (API) is now easier to use, and more efficient, with dozens of lines of code reduced to one. It enables rock solid and durable integrations with independent software vendors’ (ISV) products and online services.
New sales order reporting tool: This new, powerful reporting tool allows analysis of sales and profitability by customer, salesperson, order, item class, customer class, and date.
New marketing automation capabilities: Synchronization between Acumatica and HubSpot connects outbound marketing activities with CRM lead flow and processes, built with integration services.
New general ledger reclassification tool: Users can quickly and efficiently reclassify transactions during month end closing with full auditing and history tracking, removing tedious manual reversal and adjustments.
Support for Amazon Aurora RDS: Customers have an additional database (DB) option, as Acumatica now supports the fast-growing Amazon Web Services (AWS) Aurora Remote DB Service, enabling customers to benefit from its multi-zone availability and redundancy.
Deeper integration with Microsoft Exchange: Acumatica 5.3 offers significantly improved performance and reliability in the synchronization of data and records—including email, contacts, tasks, and appointments—with Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 accounts. It also supports the synchronization of all-day events and tracking of email messages that reference cases or opportunities for inclusion in Acumatica ERP and association with corresponding entities. In addition, it includes direct hyperlinked CRM records, accessible on a smartphone.
New Payroll module: No longer in preview release, customers can now execute employee payroll through Acumatica 5.3.
