On Jan 15, 2018, Paya (formerly Sage Payment Solutions) released a new version of Sage Exchange Desktop (18.104.22.168). Users will receive a pop-up as shown below to alert them about the update’s availability. (Image 1)

Why is this update important? It loads the most recent bug and defect fixes for Sage Exchange Desktop (SED) version 2.0.
Should You Update?
If you are running Sage 100 2017 or later, Sage Exchange Desktop v2.0 is already required to process credit cards with Paya. MicroAccounting recommends all Sage 100 users stay current with the latest software updates to ensure bug fixes are installed.
Running Sage 100 in a terminal server environment?
Before installing the update, MicroAccounting recommends logging in as an administrator and having all other users exit the system.
Haven’t received the pop-up prompt to update?
If you believe you should have received the alert, first, check to see which version of Sage Exchange Desktop you are running. To do this, click the arrow at the bottom-right section of your screen found on the Windows taskbar next to the clock. This area is commonly known as the “System Tray” or “Notification Area” and will display a variety of icons, one of which will be for Sage Exchange Desktop, as shown below. (Image 2)
Right-click the icon and choose “About Sage Exchange Desktop.” This will take you to a screen like the following where you can see the current version number in the bottom section. (Image 3)
If “SED – v126.96.36.199” is displayed, you are running the most recent version.
If you see a lower number, and you have not received a prompt to update, exit Sage Exchange Desktop. To do so, right-click the icon from the system tray and choose exit.
Next, restart the program. (Access the start menu and type “Sage Exchange” until Sage Exchange Desktop is displayed and you can click on it to launch.)
At this point, you should now see the update prompt.
