A Sage 100 Payroll renumbering bug causes an increase in active employee total when a user alters employee numbers. Sage has released two fixes for the issue—one for clients on v2016 product updates (PU) 4 & 5 and one for those on v2017 PU 1 & 2.
Clients Affected by the Sage 100 Payroll Renumbering Bug
If you are on Sage 100 version 2016.4, 2016.5, 2017.1, or 2017.2 and you do not have an unlimited Payroll module tier, you will need the patch.
How to check your current version and determine if you need the patch:
Inside Sage 100, go to: File, Run.
In the program field, type: *info.
You will now see a screen where you can view your system version. (Image 1)
Note: System Version 5.40.1 is 2017 PU 1, System Version 184.108.40.206 is PU 2, System Version 5.30.4 is 2016 PU 4, and System Version 5.30.5 is 2016 PU5.
Scroll to the bottom to see your Payroll subscription information.
- Do you see your Employee Payroll tier information? This means the data is being communicated back to Sage and you will need the patch.
- Do you see the word “unlimited” in this spot? If so, you don’t need the patch.
- Is the information area blank? This means data is not being communicated back to Sage. This means you do not need the patch at this time.
Think you may already have the patch?
To check, access the Library Master Module and click on Reports. Then, select Installed Modules Listing.
Preview the screen and look for PR5010-T or PR5009-T under Payroll. (Image 2)
